Leading food processing group in SlavoniaNovi Agrar was founded in 1998 in Osijek. The core business of Novi Agrar is agricultural production in the crop-farming and stock-breeding segments and production of electrical energy from renewable sources. The company and its daughter companies farm around 20,000 hectares of agricultural land and produce 20 million liters of milk and 6000 bullocks in Croatia and Serbia.The owner of Novi Agrar is Žito which is a private-owned company. Novi Agrar is an important part of Žito’s group as all other activities of the group are vertically complementing its business. They include silo capacities of 300,000 ton, production of animal feed, to which animal-breeding connects vertically: 150,000 pigs and 65 million eggs, a segment in which we are the Croatian market leaders. Industries such as sugar, oil and flour production lean on the activities of Novi Agrar. Apart from the mentioned activities , Žito Group puts great importance on cooperation with small farmers, who farm around 60,000 hectares. Žito sells our partners all they need for agricultural production – seed, fertilizer and herbicides – and at the end of the production cycle, we buy all final products from them.
