OpenGenius and London Stock Exchange joining forces at Digital Festival at Tramshed in Cardiff

The London Stock Exchange had an important part to play in this year’s Digital Festival, held at Tramshed in Cardiff, on Monday 18th September. The two day event showcased the very best of the tech scene in Wales.

As part of the festival, a boat set sail down the River Taff to OpenGenius’ headquarters, Tec Marina, for delegates to hear more about the opportunities that LSE provides. OpenGenius, owners of Tec Marina, are part of our most recent ELITE cohort. They are the fast-growing company behind brainstorming and mind mapping software, iMindMap, and visual task management app, DropTask.

Delegates were treated to a one-off talk by serial entrepreneur and CEO of OpenGenius, Chris Griffiths. Chris was livestreamed from our LSE offices into Tec Marina providing insight into how his company became the first Welsh business to join the ELITE accelerator programme. Offering guidance to early stage companies looking to take their businesses to the next level, the talk aimed to inspire early stage entrepreneurs beyond the first hurdle. Griffiths talk ended with his favourite quote: "‘Winners fail more times than losers every try".

Delegates also took part in a workshop with Emma Titmus, Business Development Manager at LSE. Emma spoke to attendees about accessing finance for growth, and the acceleration that ambitious companies can gain when they join a programme like ELITE.

Congratulations to all!
