The Fifth Business is about to embark on the most exciting phase of its entire 26 year history – and attributes this new development to the business growth unleashed by participating in the London Stock Exchange ELITE programme.

On October 1st, Environmental Resources Management (ERM), a global provider of environmental, health, safety, risk and social consulting services, added The Fifth Business to its group of companies in a multi-million pound deal.

‘Fifth’, a member of the 2017 Elite cohort, is a change management and employee engagement consultancy and, as such, was unique in that intake. The directors - Enda Logan, Joan Ingram and George Phillips - put a start-up mentality on top of the company’s 26 year track record and the results were exceptional: 150% year-on-year growth has been achieved in the past two years.

The values of Fifth and ERM are totally aligned, and with “the business of sustainability” at the heart of what ERM does, the addition of a behavioural change service can help deliver the transformation agenda facing many companies.

“Shaping a sustainable future with our clients will increasingly create disruptive change for them, their employees and their stakeholders,” explains Keryn James, ERM Group Chief Executive. “The Fifth Business is known for its ability to embed major change within large organizations, helping ensure the intended outcomes of projects. I see great potential to strengthen what ERM brings to clients with the addition of Fifth’s capabilities and take Fifth’s core offerings across new sectors and ERM services, with huge benefit for our clients.”

For the Fifth Business, the company can now operate on a bigger global stage, delivering award-winning change, as corporations seek to address climate change, a low carbon future and digital transformation. The directors fully acknowledge ELITE’s role in this major development for The Fifth Business.
