ELITE interview to Niccolò Giunta, CEO of Eurosearch Consultants Italy.

Who is Eurosearch?
First Italian Executive Search Company founded in 1969 in Milano, Eurosearch opened a second and a third office in Torino e Roma few years later.
Its international network, the Eurosearch Consultants International Group, was simultaneously founded in Milan, Paris and Düsseldorf in the same year, and is now called ECI Group.
Working hand in hand with client management for 50 years, we have acquired unsurpassed experience and a high-level reputation in Executive Search and recruiting, furthermore Eurosearch accompanies its core business with customized advisory services.
Eurosearch is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, with a team of 30 staff in Italy and around 114 internationally.

What does “entrepreneurship” mean to you?
It is a term I am used to understanding from a very broad perspective. To me, it is close to the concept of “care”. Those who take care of all the various issues of their work show an entrepreneurial spirit, taking responsibility for the final consequences of their actions and going beyond the issues that strictly apply to their function or division, always considering the good of the whole and of the company.

What are the values ​​that distinguish Eurosearch in the SME approach?
 Eurosearch has drafted a value chart through an effort that brought together both tradition - 50 years of experience, and the strength of innovation - needed to approach a market that is more and more difficult and crowded. Ethics, Competency, Seriousness and Partnership are the values we have articulated into actions and behaviours towards clients, candidates and the internal team. Our candidate selection process (and likewise the one for our internal resources) duly considers these values and undoubtedly represents, for SMEs, a further confirmation of quality, consistency and added value.
 
What are the moments in which companies benefit most from your support (business changes, new product/service launches, ...)? And what are the most common resistance and difficulties you encounter?
Companies go through different stages, and in each of these stages they have different needs, also and in particular, with reference to the characteristics, attitude, skills and competencies of the managers they want to hire. As executive search consultants, we need to have the sensitivity and competency to understand the context and support clients in the best way possible. Consolidating growth, managing critical issues, accompanying change, opening new markets: these are some of the critical needs that may require our support as advisors.
Concerning the difficulty in finding candidates, I would like to note that recently, also by way of the complicated situation of the labour market, it is getting harder and harder to involve candidates in our projects: the risk of not being assessed positively or maybe having to search for a new job is now very felt, and weighs more and more in candidates' decisions.
