Interview to Milín Kaňuščák, Group CEO of Kami Profit
What does “entrepreneurship” mean to you?
For me, entrepreneurship means the freedom to create, the courage to take responsibility, and the desire to leave a mark. It’s not just about projects or numbers, but about values, people, and the drive to push boundaries. Every day brings new decisions, uncertainties, and opportunities – and that’s exactly what fulfills me. I believe business has true meaning only when it leaves something lasting behind – whether it’s a building, an idea, or trust.
What is the biggest experience or lesson gained on your growth journey so far?
The greatest lesson on my entrepreneurial journey has been realizing that even a legally approved and carefully prepared project can face public resistance. I experienced a situation where we had to completely halt such a project and only returned to its realization thirteen years later. It was a tough, yet immensely valuable experience. It taught me that success in business is not only about courage and vision, but also about patience, respect for the community, and the ability to communicate. Experiences like this push us toward greater professionalism and remind us that entrepreneurship is a long-term commitment to society.
How is your company acting as a game changer in the landscape?
A major experience for me was the period when we decided not to continue with the original plan, but instead, in cooperation with the city, to completely redesign the entire area. Together, we prepared a new zoning regulation that enabled a more balanced and sustainable development of the locality – taking into account the needs of the city, residents, and investors. After its approval, we helped settle the land ownership and initiated the development of this newly regulated area so that it would benefit everyone – the city, the community, and the private sector. This experience taught me that patience, professionalism, and genuine partnership with the city can transform even an initially controversial project into a long-term, sustainable success story.
What Should Your Life Motto Be?
My motto is: “Every day is a challenge.” because no two days in business or in life are ever the same. Each day brings new circumstances, decisions, and uncertainties that test our vision, discipline, and character. Challenges force us to adapt, to stay curious, and to never grow complacent. They remind me that progress is not automatic. it’s earned through consistency, resilience, and the courage to face what’s uncomfortable. And that’s what makes entrepreneurship meaningful: the constant growth that comes from overcoming something new, every single day.
ELITE: the European network of private SMEs which accelerates the process to access private and public capital markets. Why it can be the game changing opportunity companies should consider?
For KAMI PROFIT, joining the European network of SMEs represents a major step toward greater openness, professionalism, and strategic growth. This network, which accelerates access to private and public capital markets, offers companies like ours not only new financial opportunities but also access to experience, inspiration, and partnerships across Europe. For us, it’s not just about capital it’s about a change in mindset. About seeing the company through the eyes of an investor, embracing transparency, long-term vision, and international credibility. With better access to financing, we can expand our know-how and capacities beyond Slovakia, gain valuable global experience, and share our expertise with partners abroad. Such an environment motivates us to grow not only economically but also in values developing our people, processes, and projects to meet European and global standards. I believe that for Slovak companies with the ambition to grow and expand, this path is a natural evolution.
