Interview to Giuseppe Pacotto, Chairman & CEO of TESI SpA
What does "entrepreneurship" mean to you?
For me, entrepreneurship is based on passion and responsibility. It means turning a deep interest into a concrete project and ensuring that it develops into a long-term successful enterprise. I am convinced that full commitment and a responsible attitude are the true driving force of a company. Our goal has always been to build a company capable of producing tangible and lasting value for all our stakeholders: from shareholders to employees, to the communities in which we operate. Looking back at our journey, I can say that the true cohesive force in our growth was not so much cultural or commercial leadership, but rather meeting responsible people with whom we launched the Tesisquare project. It was precisely the strength of these relationships that made the journey stable and rewarding.
What was the most significant experience or lesson you've learned during your journey?
One of the most significant lessons I learned dates back to the beginning of my career, at 21, when I was working as a metalworker. The company was going through a period of great uncertainty, and that situation, which appeared to be an obstacle, turned out to be a great opportunity. By cultivating my passion for IT and, through a new training program, I turned a hobby into a profession. I understood that every challenge can be transformed and overcome thanks to the ability to reinvent oneself, and that the desire to learn and commitment can fuel rewarding projects. Over time, new important experiences have been added to this lesson. After eight years, what began as a small business has grown and been enriched by new professionals. Thus, I learned that the strength of a project lies not in the individual, but in the ability to nurture the people who are part of it. I understood that the true strength of a company lies not only in numbers, technology, or profits, but in its ability to also be a "social machine". A company has an ethical duty to its people and a significant impact on the communities in which it operates. In an environment of fairness, trust, and mutual respect, work becomes simpler and free of pitfalls, and people can truly express their potential. This philosophy, which places human capital at the center of everything, guides every decision we make at Tesisquare. For us, even the design and development of technological solutions are born with the goal of valorizing and empowering people, making them more efficient and collaborative.
