Clouditalia is a company founded in 2012 following the acquisition of Eutelia’s ICT assets. Positioned as a provider of state-of-the-art integrated cloud and telecoms services, it supports SMEs through technology solutions delivered either as standard packages or via bespoke project-based offerings. In Clouditalia’s approach, a local presence is crucial. To ensure it is close to its customers, the company boasts numerous regional offices and an infrastructure that is fully on a par with that of the major national operators.Owned by the J. Hirsch and Co. fund, Clouditalia currently provides its customers with a fibre-optic network spanning over 15,000 km, supplemented by 3,500 km of wireless network and approximately 237 points of presence. The backbone of this infrastructure has recently been upgraded to 100 Gb/s through the introduction of mTera technology produced by Coriant, thereby enabling considerable flexibility and capacity for growth. With this move, Clouditalia has become the first company in Italy – and one of the first operators in Europe – to adopt this technology. Over the past two years, the company has developed numerous MANs (Metropolitan Area Networks) in Italy’s major cities (Milan, Rome, Naples, Turin and Padua). The infrastructure is further enhanced by two state-of-the-art data centres (in Arezzo and Rome) configured for disaster recovery, around which high-performance services have been built with the support of leading international technology partners (VMware, Zerto, Alcatel-Lucent, EMC2, Tintri, NetApp, Commvault, Coriant, Acronis, Rubrik, Cisco, Microsoft). A third data centre, to be located in Milan, will be brought online in 2016. In addition to its national network, Clouditalia also has a Europe-wide network that links, reaches and connects the most important strategic data and voice traffic exchange points (London, Frankfurt and Amsterdam).
